New Women on Wheels bicycling class offered April through June

Posted: 2010-04-14

The Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC) is offering a series of bike riding classes exclusively for women called Women on Wheels during spring 2010.

Women on Wheels classes will be held in Fairfax, and are divided into a Beginning series, held April 17th through May 1st, and an Intermediate series, held May 5th through May 29th.  Several special class sessions, including bike maintenance lessons and group rides, will be held in June after the completion of Intermediate classes.

Most regular class sessions are two hours, held on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm, with some exceptions.  A working bicycle and a helmet are required to participate in classes.

Advance registration is required to attend classes.  Registration for the Beginning series of three class sessions is $60, or $50 for MCBC members.  The Intermediate series, held in five class sessions, is $95, or $80 for MCBC members.  Fees from these classes support MCBC, and are not a part of the Marin Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Project.

More information, including a full class schedule and registration information, is available on the Women on Wheels page of the WalkBikeMarin Event Calendar.  Or, visit the MCBC Women on Wheels page directly.

Note: The beginning class series is currently fullContact MCBC if you would like to be placed on the waitlist.
