Celebrate the winter solstice and upcoming New Year with a fun-filled, educational event for the whole family. We will take a quick stroll across flat terrain at beautiful Stafford Lake Park, taking in views of the full moon and park. Along the way we will discuss basic astronomy concepts and the influence they have on our life in Marin County. We will wrap up the event by preparing s’mores and hot cocoa in one of the group picnic areas. Dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes (it could be muddy or slippery). Dogs are not permitted at Stafford Lake Park. Rain will cancel the event. Questions: Contact Ranger Kirk Schroeder at (415) 897-0618 or KSchroeder@marincounty.org. Meet at the area 2 parking lot at Stafford Lake Park in Novato (3549 Novato Blvd).
