Trips for Kids founder receives award
Marilyn Price, founder of the nonprofit Trips for Kids, recently received a Jefferson Award from the American Insitute for Public Service in honor of her efforts to help poor children experience Marin County by mountain bike. Founded in 1986, Trips for Kids has brought thousands of bay area children to natural areas, as well as providing job training skills and mechanic training through the Recyclery Thrift Shop. Trips for Kids went national in 1999, and has helped launch over sixty national Trips for Kids groups.
