This spring and summer, San Rafael is home to Way to Go! - a program about walking, bicycling, and transit in Marin County. Way to Go! is offering great resources and fun activities to encourage residents to get out, stretch their legs, and explore all that San Rafael and Marin have to offer.

We'll explore how easy it can be to leave the car at home for everyday trips, such as going to the store, post office, or bank, as well as getting to the many recreational and cultural activities in the area. Walking and bicycling are fantastic ways to experience Marin's natural beauty, as well as great ways to meet neighbors and increase physical activity.

Way to Go! staff are delivering customized GoKits - packets of maps, brochures, and free gifts - to participating households. We are also hosting fun guided walks and special events led by friendly, local experts. The Way to Go! program is free for all households in our target area in central San Rafael. Events are open to everyone in San Rafael, especially beginners looking for a fun and safe atmosphere for getting started.
