Posted: 2010-02-08

These workshops have been completed; SMART anticipates a follow-up series of workshops to be announced later this spring.  WalkBikeMarin will provided updated information on these events as it becomes available.

The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) has announced a series of community meetings to gather design ideas from the public that will go into planning the 14 passenger rail stations along the SMART corridor.  For more information about the SMART project, visit SonomaMarinTrain.org.

Each workshop is intended as an information gathering session, where station design consultants Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects will present initial station design concepts and hear public input and feedback.  After these initial workshops, more detailed designs will be developed and a series of follow-up workshops will be held in the spring.

A total of ten workshops will be held between February 8-19, 2010, with three workshops to be held in Marin County. Meetings will be held in Larkspur, February 10; Novato, February 11; and San Rafael, February 16.  For a full scheule, see the the SMART Station Design Community Workshops page on the WalkBikeMarin Event Calendar.
