New trip planning tool for biking and hiking in Marin

Posted: 2010-02-18

Have you ever had a day when you wanted to take a hike or a bike ride on a trail in the Bay Area, but didn't have a car available to get to the trailhead?  Transit and Trails has you covered.

Transit and Trails is a new trip planning tool designed to help get you to the park or trail where you want to go, providing up to the minute information on the next bus or train arrival that will get you to your destination.  It will even tell you how much your fare will cost, and how many pounds of carbon dioxide emissions you'll save by taking transit instead of driving a car.  If you're looking for a new place to ride, Transit and Trails displays all trails and parks located nearby the address you enter, so it can help you find that favorite new spot.  Check this post on Shea Gunther's blog for MNN.com for a full overview of how the tool works.

We've added a link to Transit and Trails in the Walk & Bike Maps sidebar on the I Want to Walk and Bike page of the WalkBikeMarin website where you can find other resources and tips that can help you plan to walk and bike more this spring in Marin County.
