After visiting Sausalito in 2008 and Larkspur and Novato in 2009, this year the WalkBikeMarin Way to Go! program is coming to San Rafael.

This summer, Way to Go! will help central San Rafael residents get out, stretch their legs, and give walking, bicycling, and transit a try.  About 2,700 residents in the central San Rafael target area will be invited to order customized information packets containing their choice of maps, brochures, and helpful resources on transportation options in San Rafael. Customized packets will be assembled and delivered (by bicycle!) to San Rafael homes, along with a free gift designed for walking, bicycling, and taking transit. The first order forms were sent out on May 15, with additional mailings over the next two weeks.  If you live in the Way to Go! target area, you can also fill out your order form online.  Households can expect deliveries within about two weeks.

Way to Go! will also host guided walks and bicycle rides in San Rafael throughout the summer. The events will take Marin residents to fun and interesting destinations around San Rafael – to try out new skills, enjoy the neighborhood, and discover the ease and fun of walking and bicycling in Marin. All San Rafael residents are invited to these special events, especially beginners looking for a fun and safe atmosphere to get started. Events kick off Tuesday, June 22nd; check the Way to Go!
