The Marin County Department of Public Works received approval from the Board of Supervisors on May 1 to proceed with its work program to resurface several roadways in the unincorporated area.

As part of this program, Las Gallinas Avenue, Miller Creek Road, Butterfield Road, Woodland Avenue, Almonte Boulevard, and a portion of Lucas Valley Road will also be striped for bike lanes. These routes tend to have significant bicycle travel and having designated lanes is expected to encourage more bike riding in these corridors and improve safety.

The City of Mill Valley will also be adding pavement markings to provide direction for cyclists through the Alto neighborhood between the Horse Hill Path and Mill Valley-Sausalito Path.
