The Cal Park Tunnel is now open an extra hour each evening, until midnight, on a trial basis effective March 16.  The extended open hours resulted from a periodic evaluation of tunnel operations.  The new hours will be evaluated in six months to address any impacts or issues that might arise.

 The extra hour each night is expected to benefit users returning from work or social events who, under the original schedule, might miss getting back through the tunnel before closure and thus have to travel around via East Sir Francis Drake and Andersen Drive.  It also allows for people taking the Giants game ferry for evening games to be able to get through the tunnel after returning from the game.
