Ride & Hike in Honor of Charles McGlashan 3/25

Posted: 2012-03-21

Join friends this Sunday, March 25th, (rain or shine) for a ride, hike, and gathering in tribute to Charles’ life, his work and his spirit. Cyclists will depart the Depot Café in Mill Valley at 10 AM, heading up Railroad Grade via East Blithedale to West Point Inn.  This is a no drop ride, complete with a leader and a sweep.

The gathering, in memory and celebration of Charles McGlashan, former County of Marin Board of Supervisor, will take place at 12 noon at West Point Inn. This gathering marks one year since Charles’ passing, and is a celebration of the work and ideals he championed.  He continues to inspire us…

There will be food and refreshments available, including a bit of Charles’ favorite chardonnay for an honorary toast.  Please bring your own cup, as this is a zero waste event, of course! Also, bring something to share – whether food or drink (preferably vegetarian and remember: Please, no plastic!).

You’re also welcome to find your own way to the West Point Inn. You can hike or drive/hike to the gathering. If starting from the Mountain Home Inn on Panoramic Highway, take the Matt Davis Trail to the Nora Trail.  Or, if starting from Old Mountain Theater and Rock Spring Parking Lot, take the Rock Spring Trail.

As Charles would say, it’d be “awesome” if you could join us.
