Posted: 2007-07-05

The Marin County Bicycle Coalitiion is teaching three summer biking workshops.

BICYCLE COMMUTING 101: Thursday, July 12, 6-8 PM

Learn to commute comfortably during the summer months, and how to keep cycling all year long! This adult-oriented workshop will help those who want to use a bike for local errands, commuting, or cycling with children to school. Learn about safety, visibility, route planning, appropriate clothing and simple bike accessories. (More info here.)

HOW TO RIDE WITH YOUTH: Saturday, July 14, 9 AM to 12 noon

Teach your children to ride safely this summer and to school in the fall. Provide them with independence, health, and freedom by showing them how to use their bikes in traffic—or get a head-start in teaching them how to drive defensively. (More info here.)

BASIC STREET SKILLS: Tuesday, July 17

Know how to drive your bike visibly, defensively, and confidently? Know how to ride on the busy rural roads? Know your legal obligations while cycling? Don't miss the next Basic Street Skills class on Tuesday, July 17, to learn the answers to these questions. (More info here.)

ROAD I CLASS: Thursday, August 23, 6:30-9:30 PM and Saturday, August 25, 9 AM to noon

Six-hour course for cyclists who want a full understanding of how to operate a bike safely in varying traffic situations. Learn how to perform a bike safety check, fix a flat, avoid collisions, and practice on-bike skills. (More info here.)
