Marin agencies receive $1.7 M from Caltrans for schools Posted: 2007-08-02 Caltrans has awarded Safe Routes to School grants to local jurisdictions for projects to benefit four Marin schools: County of Marin: Tam Valley School - widen and improve sidewalk and improve crosswalk along Marin Avenue Town of San Anselmo: San Anselm and Wade Thomas Schools - provide sidewalk, curb ramps and high-visibility crosswalks, slow traffic and fix intersection City of San Rafael: Sun Valley School - improved pathway along Happy Lane Town of Tiburon: Del Mar Middle School - 18 upgraded crosswalks, curb ramps, and new traffic controls near the school The Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) Safe Routes to Schools program assisted all of these communities in developing the plans for their grant application.
