Sausalito celebrates improvements to Bridgeway Avenue and Ferry Terminal

Thanks to the City of Sausalito’s recently completed improvements along Bridgeway Avenue between Napa Street and Princess Street, and at the Ferry Terminal, cycling through town and accessing the ferry is noticeably more comfortable, safe and convenient. In addition to re-striping the bicycle lanes along this section of Bridgeway, sharrows and high visibility crosswalks were also added.

Additionally, the City is celebrating the completion of the Bridgeway to Ferry Landing Improvements Project. The project, funded by a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) grant and the Non-motorized Transportation Pilot Program, provides a pedestrian and cycling path to connect Bridgeway to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, previously separated by a large parking lot.  Because the waiting area for ferry passengers was minimal, queues would frequently spill out into the parking lot. The new pathway provides a clear path of travel, improving access to the Ferry Terminal, and provides an attractive link to nearby shops, restaurants and other public amenities.
