"Share the Road" checkpoints educate drivers, cyclists, walkers Posted: 2007-08-13 The Marin County Bicycle Coalition, Marin County law officers and the California Highway Patrol are hosting "share the road" checkpoints this month to educate people about their rights and responsibilities and are seeking volunteers for the effort. Uniformed officers and bike coalition volunteers will provide flyers to drivers, cyclists and walkers at each checkpoint. On Aug. 18 between 8 and 11 a.m., they will be in downtown Ross and in Novato along San Marin Drive and Novato Boulevard. Between noon and 3 p.m. in Sausalito, a checkpoint will be at Gate 6 Road.
