| Saturday, March 23, 2013, 9am – 1pm | Event Location | Meet at the gate at the end of Taylor Rd in Tiburon | Directions | From Hwy 101 in Corte Madera, take exit 449A for Tamalpais Dr east. Go straight onto San Clemente, which merges into Paradise Dr after 0.4 mile. Follow Paradise Dr approximately 1.7 miles, turn right onto Taylor Rd, and follow to end (dead end). | Type of Event | Family, Volunteering | Sponsor | Parks | Category | Recreation | | | Note | Let’s celebrate Ring Mountain Preserve for our 12th annual “Fling on Ring” community event! Join us for a day of environmental education and community service. We will remove invasive French broom to help restore native grassland. After lunch, Volunteer Naturalist Bernie Hale will provide a wonderful presentation called “Skins and Skulls” focusing on the diversity of Marin’s wildlife. Bernie has a wide variety of pelts and skulls and tells stories which bring these objects to life. The terrain is uneven and the work is moderately strenuous but suitable for volunteers 5 years and older. The presentation is geared toward children but entertaining for all ages. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Heavy rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 473-3778 after 7am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. Questions: Contact Open Space Volunteer Coordinator Greg Reza at (415) 473-3778 or GReza@marincounty.org. | Link | www.marincountyparks.org… |
