Marin County, in partnership with the City of Mill Valley,constructed a roundabout on the Mill Valley-Sausalito path at Sycamore Avenue.  The new roundabout  is at the intersection with the new path constructed by the City along the south side of Sycamore Avenue.  The Route 8 path to the east was realigned to form the fourth leg of the roundabout and a separate spur path to the middle school has been provided. The roundabout is intended to slow cyclists down approaching the path crossing and focus crossing of the north-south path to improve the previous hapazard situation.   

The design of the roundabout includes a 40' diameter middle island, 10' paved path around the island with 4' decomposed granite shoulders, and creation of a plaza area for people to wait for rides or linger without being on the path itself.  A water fountain and informational kiosk with a vicinity map has also been provided.
