Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Rehabilitation Project Approved

Posted: 2018-05-10

At their May 8 meeting the Board of Supervisors certified the Environmental Impact Report and approved the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Rehabilitation project.  The project includes major improvements on SFD between Highway 101 and the Ross Town Limits.  In addition to modifying the roadway to address congestion issues, there are multiple improvements to improve safety for pedestrians, including reconfiguration of intersections to provide greater pedestrian safety zones, crosswalk enhancements, modifications to signal timing and crossing times, and improved visibility of pedestrians by motorists, particuarly related to several intersections with high-speed right turn movements.  The project is now in final design and will be constructed over two late-spring to early-fall periods in 2019 and 2020.  More information is available on the project webpage:  https://www.marincounty.org/depts/pw/divisions/transportation/transportation/sir-francis-drake-boulevard-rehabilitation
