Nonmotorized Pilot Community meeting report Posted: 2008-09-28 During the week of September 22, the four Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Program communities, along with representatives from the federal government and Rails to Trails Conservancy, met in Marin. The group meets annually to share experiences and strategize on ways to facilitate project delivery, improve the federal funding process, share our opportunities and constraints with the community at large, and seek to expand funding and the program as a whole in upcoming federal transportation bill reauthorization. Participants included representatives from Marin County; Columbia, Missouri; Transit for Livable Communities in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Sheboygan County, Wisconsin; the Federal Highway Administration; the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Research Center; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Rails to Trails Conservancy.
